We cordially invite you to join us for a fulfilling volunteer day dedicated to environmental stewardship and conservation. This engaging day will be divided into two main activities: firstly, the removal of exotic plant species, followed by an insightful workshop on constructing bat nesting boxes. It's a wonderful opportunity to make a positive impact on our natural surroundings while learning valuable skills and contributing to the well-being of local ecosystems.

The goals of this initiative include:

• Eradicating widely spread invasive species from the region
• Providing a fresh habitat for the natural reestablishment of indigenous flora
• Enhancing the ecological health of the tree and shrub community, thereby impeding the encroachment of invasive exotic species

Workshop on constructing bat nesting boxes

For various reasons, bats are finding fewer suitable nesting spaces in the natural environment. Although Catalonia boasts significant forested areas, the quality of our forests isn't ideal for them, as mature trees with suitable cavities for nesting are scarce.

Installing selective nesting boxes can support their survival by providing opportunities for their population to thrive or establish themselves in specific areas such as forests, urban parks, gardens, buildings, etc., thus becoming breeding spaces and contributing to the diversification of our environment.

The objectives of this action are:

• To gain more knowledge about bats, their importance for our environment, their challenges, and the potential we have to help them by simply placing nesting boxes.
• To construct nesting boxes to provide them with new nesting sites in a forest that lacks many mature trees.
