London, we love this city!

London, we love this city!

One of the cities I have visited the most outside of Spain is London.

One of my best friends lives there. When she was offered a good job position in the British capital, she was happy, but at the same time sad, as she was leaving her city.

According to her, the most special thing about London is to feel and let yourself be carried away by that worldly air that the city transmits. A modern, cosmopolitan, exciting, multicultural city... An urban hub where more than 300 languages and 270 nationalities converge. I must say that the main reason I like this city is for its cultural and ethnic diversity.

Without further ado, I want to introduce you to the most substantial aspects of this wonderful city.

Big Ben, the most recognizable of London's landmarks. A symbol of the city's identity. You haven't been to London if you haven't taken the typical photo with, in the distance, one of the world's most famous towers, and by your side, the typical red telephone booth, so characteristic of the city.

Camden Town, come, see, and buy. Known for its market and alternative atmosphere, Camden Town is a popular spot in the borough of Camden. If you are curious, trendy, or the pounds are burning a hole in your pocket, your place is Camden Town.

The magic of Notting Hill. Whether you're a fan of the movie or not, you can't miss this neighborhood, with its colorful houses, its famous flea market (Portobello Road), its famous blue door, and the location where one of the world's most famous carnivals is celebrated.

Picadilly Circus. It's almost impossible to walk among the crowd and the bustle. Bright billboards, hundreds of neon lights, loud 3D advertisements… for me, it's the vital hub of the city. A spot chosen by many Londoners as a meeting point, thanks to its privileged location and the wide range of entertainment options available in the area.

A must-visit isBuckingham Palace, the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II. The most attractive feature is the sumptuous changing of the guard. Once you've seen it, it's interesting to take a walk through the lush park surrounding it, one of London's lungs, Green Park.

A feat of design and engineering is the famous London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel. Since its inauguration in the year 2000, this 135-meter-tall Ferris wheel has become one of the most emblematic icons of the city and of all Great Britain.

The well-known and photographedTower Bridge. Surely, if you've visited London, you've taken pictures of this bridge from different angles. The spectacular drawbridge, with its two Gothic-style towers, crosses the River Thames in front of the great medieval fortification of the Tower of London. It's worth noting that it has been a recurring backdrop for various movies. It has been featured in films like Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, among others.

The Tower of London and its legends. A symbol of the terror inspired by medieval power, tortures, and executions at the hands of cruel monarchs. For over 900 years, it was synonymous with fear, being the place where all those who offended the monarch were imprisoned. Most who passed through there lived miserably in horrendous conditions and did not come out alive. This is why, even today, its shadow and its ravens (its current inhabitants) are still considered to mark a grim place.

One of London's most attractive districts, attracting about 30 million tourists a year, is , Covent Garden. It stands out for its great variety of shops, cafes, and entertainment. It's curious, as this neighborhood initially emerged around a fruit and vegetable market, which today is sheltered inside a building. This famous market and the Covent Garden Piazza were designed taking inspiration from St. Mark's Square in Venice.

A place with a long history. I won't give you the name of the neighborhood until the end. Let's see if you can guess it? The original area was located in the eastern part of London, where thousands of Chinese sailors began to congregate towards the end of the 18th century. These had been hired in China, but, for various reasons, had to stay and live in London. By 1914, 30 Chinese businesses had already opened. For about 10 pounds, you can enjoy a menu in most of the area's restaurants. Chinese food in London is much more authentic than that of restaurants in Spain. It is characterized by its restaurants, shops, and its unique atmosphere. Have you guessed which neighborhood it is? Chinatown.

Standing at 110 meters tall, **St. Paul's Cathedral ** is the second-largest cathedral in the world, second only to the famous St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. It has been a sacred site for many years. Probably the cathedral's biggest attraction is its large dome, composed of three circular galleries. Don't miss it!!

Spanning over 140 hectares, it is the largest park in central London. It serves as the city's great lung and a place of recreation for both tourists and Londoners alike. The famous Hyde Park, lose yourself in it.

I want to mention the famous British Museum, one of the oldest museums in the world. It houses one of the largest and most famous collections of antiquities. This museum receives more than 5 million visits annually, making it the third most visited museum in the world, behind the Louvre in Paris and the Metropolitan Museum in New York.

Lastly,Trafalgar Square. It is one of the most popular squares in the world, commemorating the victory of the Battle of Trafalgar. The square is often used for social occasions, such as New Year's celebrations and the Christmas ceremony. For the latter celebration, a fir tree over 20 meters tall is placed, an annual gift from the Norwegian government as thanks for the assistance received during World War II.

I could write pages and pages about London, but I also don't want to overwhelm you with the British capital. After reading this piece, I understand why my friend has fallen in love with this beautiful city. ¡¡¡¡¡¡Encourage yourself to visit it!!!!!!
